- Leverage existing systems, services, and social settings: connect with state and local public and private agencies and organizations that routinely interface with families who will have newly eligible children. A few examples include but are not limited to:
- Schools
- Clinics
- WIC centers
- Organizations that assist with Cal Fresh enrollment
- After-school programs
- Family resource centers
- Child care centers
- Parks and recreation programs
- Public libraries
- Faith-based institutions
- Develop on-site enrollment and education events at these settings (one time and ongoing). Have informational/enrollment booths, conduct presentations and/or create a referral process.
- Share consumer friendly materials that promote the program and your contact information. Be especially sure to share information that shows the program is safe and private.
- It may be necessary to create materials in languages that are not available from the state or other sources.
- If possible, develop relationships with local media, especially ethnic media. Share information about the program and who to contact for assistance.
